![]() ![]() In the late 960s, a general and relative of the Byzantine emperor Nikephoros II Phokas wrote a book entitled On Skirmishing, a war manual that details how to defend the Taurus Mountains from invaders. My favorites are the various war manuals that they wrote, most famous among them the Strategikon of Maurice, though that was far from the only one. Now, I am a major Byzantine fanboy and have read a lot of books about them. ![]() I had received my first castle, Varagos Castle, and defended it and the surrounding villages tooth and nail, making use of the numerous mountain passes to defend and attack. One of the best moments I had in Bannerlord was being a minor noble in the Western Empire. ![]()
